Biography

Junior Year (2009): Stacey Marion had a very strong junior year, looking competitive in every meet she raced. One of her standout performances was at the Paul Short Invitational where she finished the 6k in only 23.11.

Sophomore Year (2008): Marion did not compete in the Cross Country season. She went on to run a strong Indoor Track season, running a time of 10:48 for the 3000m at the Syracuse Welcome back meet.

Freshman Year (2007): Marion proved to be an instant success and an outstanding addition to the Cross Country team. She finished first overall in the season opener, the Harry Lang Invitational, crushing the previous record on the 4k course. Marion continued the season to consistently be Colgate's number one runner. She went on to capture the title of the Patriot League Champion on the 6k course in a time of 20:53 at the Patriot League Championship at Lafayette University. Her stellar performance earned her the title of the Patriot League Rookie of the Year as well as Athlete of the Meet, a first in Patriot League history. She also garnered All-Patriot League First-Team honors, and the title of ECAC Runner of the Week. Marion went on to finish third at the ECAC Championship in 17:45, earning All-East honors for her noteworthy performance. At the NCAA district regional championship Marion ran 21:40 for 6K, to cap off a fabulous season.

Before Colgate: Marion earned three Varsity letters in both Cross Country and Outdoor Track and Field at Simsbury High. She additionally was a member of the Cross Country Skiing Team, where she earned three Varsity letters. As a Senior Captain, Marion helped lead Simsbury to the Class L Cross Country Championship was the Cross Country State Runner-Up.  Her success in the Cross Country season earned Marion All-State, All-Central Connecticut North Conference and All-Class L Honors in 2004, 2005, and 2006.  She finished her Cross Country career with a time of 19:24 for the 5k. Marion further guided her team as a Senior Captain in the Track and Field season to the State Open Championship in 2006 and the Class L Championship in 2007. Her stellar performances earned her All-Central Connecticut North Conference, All-New England and All-Class L Honors consecutively for three years. She finished her Track and Field career with a time of 2:21 for the 800m, 5:04 for the 1600m, and 10:55 for the 3200m.

Marion was a member of the National Art Honor Society and the National Honor Society.
