Coach Dan Hunt on John: "Johnny has been through a lot. When you're a running back and have injuries to your knees – that can set you back. He had his first injury but came back and was a great contributor to us last year, but then got hurt again in the playoff game. Then he bounced back and returned for the fifth year. It probably took a little bit longer to recover from this injury but he found a way to say, 'All right, I can play fullback and really contribute there.' Toward the end of the year here he has played himself back to being a tailback. Great to see the game he had against Lafayette, and he'll a tailback again this week. Just a lesson in perseverance. But when you talk about a kid who's been through a lot, he comes in this office every day with a smile on his face. He can't wait to practice; he can't wait to play. That makes everyone around him give a better attitude. We're going to miss having him around the program, for sure."
