Coach Dan Hunt on Alex: "Alex came in as a freshman and got better every day. He plays a position that doesn't get a lot of glory playing inside on the D-line, and even with all that and what he was asked to do has just made a ton of plays for us. You look at last year with the playoff run, he played his best football in the biggest games and just took that to the next level this year. You want to point to a freshman and let him know this is how you do it. You come in and you have your role as a freshman, which probably isn't big. But if you work hard, are coachable and do the right things, you'll come out on the other end as an All-League player, and that's certainly what he did."
