Colgate Drops 4-3 Heartbreaker to Terriers

Box Score BOSTON - The Colgate men's tennis team dropped a 4-3 battle to Boston University.. The Raiders won a doubles point that came down to a final tiebreaker, but could only manage two singles wins at lines five and six. The Terriers would then win the 3-3 deciding match at line one in a second set tiebreaker. 

Action began with doubles, where the Terriers drew first blood with a 6-1 win at line three over sophomore Lochlan Seth and junior Jerome Falcon. However, the Raiders would immediately strike back with a 6-4 win at line two, courtesy of junior Parker McGowan and first-year Tim Vargas. The point would come down to line one doubles, where senior captain Aidan Chung and sophomore Tim Viding would win a battle 7-6(9) where they saved a match point. 

The Terriers would regain the lead in singles, winning in straight sets over Vargas at line four, and senior captain Aidan Lee at line two. They would extend their lead to 3-1 with a win at line three over first-year Wittman Bulger 6-4, 6-3. However, the Raiders would fight back in the back half of the lineup, with Chung securing a 6-3, 6-1 win at line five, and Falcon winning 6-3, 7-6(5) at line six. It all came down to line one, where Seth fell 7-5, 7-6(6) for the Terriers to win the match.
