Vargas and McGowan win doubles pairing

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Colgate men's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to Navy on Saturday, with the Midshipmen securing the doubles point and three straight singles victories to clinch the match.

Colgate found early momentum in doubles play as the pairing of Parker McGowan and Tim Vargas delivered a strong 6-4 win at the No. 2 position. However, Navy responded by taking the other two courts to secure the doubles point. After a tightly contested battle at No. 1, where Aidan Chung and Tim Viding fell 7-5, the Midshipmen sealed the point with a 6-0 result at No. 3.

In singles, Navy quickly built on its lead, earning straight-set victories at Nos. 3, 6, and 1 to secure the overall match. Vargas faced a tough opponent at No. 3, falling 6-0, 6-1, while Adam Fink dropped a 6-2, 6-3 decision at No. 6. Lochlan Seth battled at the top spot but was defeated 6-2, 6-3, clinching the match for Navy.

Several other singles matches went unfinished following the clinch. Aidan Lee, Aidan Chung, and Parker McGowan were all in competitive positions in their respective matches before play was halted.
