Raiders drop 5-2 decision to Bearcats on the road

Box Score BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – A narrow 5-2 loss at the hands of Binghamton halted Colgate men's tennis win streak at the Starke Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.

"It was a tough one for the men today," head coach Bobby Pennington said. "Binghamton is a high quality team top to bottom and favored to win their conference. We lost a close doubles point and had to have it. Credit to Lee and Falcon for winning in singles. We now turn our attention to Niagara."

The Raiders lost in doubles one and three before Aidan Chung/John Fazli's match was cut short on court two with the pair leading 5-4.

Colgate could not pick up wins in singles one and two, and the Bearcats clinched the duel when Tejas Gupta fell in fifth singles, 3-6, 2-6.

The Raiders were able carry some momentum out of the duel, however, winning two out of the last three matches. Aidan Lee was leading 2-6, 7-5, 2-1 when his opponent retired, and Jerome Falcon ended the afternoon on a high note with a 7-5, 6-3 win on six.
