Gayhardt Named All-Patriot League Second Team

Senior Earns Postseason Recognition for Second-Straight Year

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Colgate men's lacrosse defenseman Donny Gayhardt was named All-Patriot League Second Team, announced by the conference Monday.

The senior earned a spot on the second team for the second-straight year after a career-best season that saw him record 12 caused turnovers and 23 ground balls. He started all 11 of Colgate's games and finished third on the team in caused turnovers and sixth in ground balls.

Gayhardt topped his career-high in ground balls at Boston University March 4, picking up six while logging a pair of caused turnovers. On March 18 at Lafayette, he caused four turnovers, which also marked a career-best.

The Bryn Mawr, Pa. native registered a pair of caused turnovers in back-to-back games against Bucknell (March 25) and Harvard (April 1).

One of Colgate's captains this season, Gayhardt helped lead the Raiders' defense in their win against Navy March 11, holding the Midshipmen to eight goals and scooping up three ground balls in the contest. He also helped the defense shut down Holy Cross in the team's season-ending victory over the Crusaders April 28.

Gayhardt finished his Colgate career having played in 31 games, making 30 starts. He racked up 28 caused turnovers and 54 ground balls during his time as a Raider and also tallied a goal and an assist.
