WEST POINT, N.Y. – Colgate fell behind early in the stretch to Loyola. The Greyhounds were able to maintain their advantage and prevailed 13–8 at Michie Stadium on Friday, topping the Raiders, the reigning 2025 Patriot League champions, to advance to the league finals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Greyhounds went on an offensive tear, scoring the first five goals to build a 5-0 run. The Raiders found their first goal of the game with
Casey Quinson netting the team's first point at 1:06, closing the first quarter with a 5-1 deficit.
Colgate opened the second quarter with a strong start, as Quinn Spillett scored with an assist from Freddy Fowler. Shortly after, Fowler found the back of the net himself, assisted by Charlie Lohman.
However, Loyola embarked on its second run of the game, scoring four straight goals to take a 9-3 lead. Hunter Drouin briefly halted the Greyhounds' momentum with a man-up goal, but the Raiders trailed by five heading into halftime, 9-4.
The third quarter featured back-and-forth scoring between Colgate and Loyola. Quinson broke through with a goal at the 10:05 mark, assisted by Andrew Heubeck. Neither team scored for eight minutes, but Loyola added its 10th goal with 2:10 remaining.
Colgate capitalized on another man-up opportunity, as Ryan Favaro scored off an assist from Fowler. The Greyhounds closed the quarter with a last-second goal to extend their lead to 11–6.
The Greyhounds maintained their lead with a pair of goals to push it to 13-6. The Raiders continued to press offensively, trying to chip away at the deficit, as Quinson and Fowler each added a goal for Colgate.
As time expired, the deficit was too large for the Raiders to overcome, as they fell to Loyola, 13-8, in the Patriot League semifinal.

- Casey Quinson scored a hat trick in the game, this marks the seventh game this season he has scored three or more goals.
- John Carrabine led the team in ground balls (7) and caused turnovers (3).
- This marks the second straight year the Raiders have appeared in the Patriot League Semifinals.
