BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The men's lacrosse program had four members selected to the All-League Team. Sam Erickson was the lone first-team selection at long-stick midfielder, while Hunter Drouin (attack), John Carrabine (defense), and Patty Eldredge (short-stick defensive midfielder) earned second-team honors.
For the first time in his career, Erickson received postseason recognition. On the defensive end for the Raiders, he has collected the second-most ground balls (43) and the third-most caused turnovers (11). He logged a new career high with six ground balls on two occasions: at Penn State (2/1) and against Loyola (2/28). In addition to his defensive prowess, he has scored five goals, including matching a career high with two in the team's win over Boston University. The senior has taken 14 shots, placing eight on goal for a .571 shot-on-goal percentage.
Drouin, an offensive staple for the Raiders, has scored 24 goals, the second most on the team. He also leads the team in assists (19) and total points (43). The senior has taken 91 shots, placing 49 on target for a .538 shot-on-goal percentage. In addition to his offensive production, he has recorded three man-up goals, five caused turnovers, and 25 ground balls. This marks the third time in Drouin's career that he has been named to the All-Patriot League Team, earning first-team honors twice and second-team recognition once.
Carrabine earned his first postseason honor with the conference. The junior was named a midseason All-American honorable mention by Inside Lacrosse. He leads the team in ground balls (68) and caused turnovers (18) and ranks fifth in the conference in ground balls and ninth in caused turnovers. In addition to his defensive performance, he has contributed offensively with four goals and three assists for seven points.
Eldredge rounds out the group with a second-team selection. The short-stick defensive midfielder has collected 36 ground balls and caused 12 turnovers and ranks among the top 10 short-stick defensive midfielders in the nation with 10 or more caused turnovers. A vital piece in the Raiders' transition game, the senior has scored six goals and added two assists for eight points. He has taken 12 shots, placing eight on goal for a .667 shot-on-goal percentage.
The Raiders now prepare for postseason play in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Colgate, seeded fifth, will face Bucknell, the fourth-seeded team, in a first-round matchup at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium.
