SYRACUSE, N.Y. – For the second consecutive day, the Colgate men's tennis team faced a team that was undefeated in its conference. But once again the Raiders tackled the challenge head-on, turning in strong performances throughout the lineup and celebrating seniors Rohan Gupta, Nick Potter and Nate Romig in their final home match Saturday afternoon at Drumlins Tennis Club. 

Navy swept the doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead into singles play and then ran the tables in singles to complete the 7-0 shutout. The closest match of the day came on the No. 2 court where Gupta took the first set from Gavin Seagraves and ultimately dropped a heartbreaking superbreaker 11-9.

"Tough senior day for the boys today. Navy showed why they have been the best team in the league for six of the last seven years. They played lights out in doubles and overwhelmed us which is difficult to do. In singles Romig, Thomas and especially Gupta played so well having a match point in the superbreaker to win. We celebrate the careers of Potter, Gupta, and Romig and have 12 days to prep for the tournament."

Colgate (8-10, 2-4) will now turn its focus on the Patriot League Tournament, which begins Thursday, April 28 in Annapolis, Md.
