Siena Blanks Colgate 7-0

Mike Thomas and Josh Israel win at no. 3 doubles

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – In the evening match of a Colgate tennis doubleheader at Drumlins Tennis Club on Sunday, the Colgate men did not have the super outcome for which they had hoped in their spring home opener.

Siena swept the singles points despite Benito Vlassis and Josh Israel taking their opponents to shortened-format third set tiebreakers at no. 4 and 6 respectively.

Siena claimed the doubles point with victories at no. 1 and 2. The Raiders' no. 3 team of Mike Thomas and Josh Israel defeated Siena's Mathis Tremblay and Maxwell Acri 6-4.

UP NEXT
Colgate (1-2) returns to action with two home matches next weekend. The Raiders will host Le Moyne on Saturday at 7 p.m. and Niagara on Sunday at 5 p.m., both at Drumlins in Syracuse.
