VAN CORTLANDT PARK, N.Y. -- Colgate Cross Country competed in the IC4A/ ECAC Championship Friday, October 14. The men's team finished 27th with a combined score of 772. The women came in 31st with a score of 853,  finishing above Patriot League foe Loyola.

Emma Pizer finished first for the women for the fourth straight meet this season with a 6k time of 23:18.3 minutes. Pizer passed 37 runners in the final stages of the race.

Carollin Mellin, Abigail Melican, and Maria Laverde all finished within eight seconds of each other to finish out the top four for the Raiders.

On the men's side, Owen Holland crossed the finish line first for the Raiders with an 8k time of 26:57.5 minutes.

William Crounse and Gavin Fowler add on to their successful seasons as they finished second and third for the Raiders. Crounse finished just behind Holland at 27:00.9 minutes and Fowler not long after them at 27:10.8 minutes.

Additionally, Zach Williams had a strong showing, finishing with a time of 27:55.2 minutes.

"It was great to see the IC4A / ECAC meet grow to over 30 schools this year. Our women's team was led by senior Emma Pizer with the fastest time of the day in 23:18.3 

"Abigail Melican also had a strong race finishing in the third position for the women.

"For the men, sophomore Owen Holland returned to the front of the Raider pack. Senior Zack Williams had a strong race to finish fifth for the team after returning from an injury earlier this season.

"The Raiders have two weeks to get some solid work in to prepare for the Patriot League Championships."
