ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Dugan McCabe was the top first-year finisher in this week's 2021 Patriot League Men's Golf Championship, earning him Patriot League Rookie of the Year honors.
 
McCabe shot 77-80-72—229 for 19 over par and a tie for 18th place. The Bethesda, Maryland, native posted six birdies over the weekend, including three Sunday morning on his way to 72.
 
Colgate Golf takes home the award for the second consecutive completed season. Dean Naime was Colgate's first Rookie of the Year recipient just two years ago in Hamilton after he tied for fourth place. Last year's event was canceled by the Covid-19 Pandemic.
 
McCabe scored for the Raiders in nine of 10 rounds this season to begin his collegiate career in fine fashion. He was one of three first-years and three sophomores making up the six-player Colgate lineup at this weekend's championship.
