Tournament Bracket
HAMILTON – The Colgate men's tennis team is set to host the Patriot League Tournament, which will run from Thursday through Sunday at the J.W. Abrahamson Tennis Courts. If the weather is not suitable, the matches will be played at Drumlins Country Club in Syracuse.
Colgate earned the No. 3 seed in the tournament after finishing conference play with a mark of 4-1. This is their highest seeding since 2009, when they were the No. 2 seed. They will take on Bucknell in quarterfinal round Friday at 2 p.m.
"We are beyond amped to be hosting the Patriot League Tournament," said head coach
Bobby Pennington. "Numbers never lie and what a year has been for the boys, going 14-6 in the regular season for the third time in four years."
The Raiders' 14 wins is tied for the most under Pennington, who took over the program in the 2006-07 season.
Colgate also enjoyed victories over conference foes Bucknell and Lehigh for the first time in the same season since 2009.
"We have been preaching all year finishing strong and peaking at the end of April, which remains the goal," Pennington said. "Bucknell is a very talented team and we have full respect for them, with a tight battle in the regular season."
In their match against the Bison earlier this season, the Raiders fought their way back to win, 4-2, after dropping the doubles point and No. 1 singles match.
Noah Rosenblat,
Alec Dardis,
Peter Hartman and
Jack Ablon each picked up wins in singles to ensure the comeback.
"The men are ready to go," Pennington said. "Let's ball and make a deep run."
