PHILADELPHIA – The Colgate women's tennis team dominated from start to finish Sunday night as the Raiders swept the La Salle Explorers, 4-0, in a clinch-style match.
MacKenzie Deeter (Wadsworth, Ohio) and
Jordan Williams (Fort Washington, Maryland) each earned a pair of victories in the Raiders win as they teamed up to win at doubles before they each won their respective singles matches.
Deeter and Williams breezed through doubles play as they beat Brittany Poje and Jade Smith, 6-1, for their first win of the spring season at No. 1 doubles. Both No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches were highly contested but
Cheyenne Brown (Dayton, New Jersey) and
Callie Bartimer (Westport, Connecticut) managed to pull through at No. 3 doubles to defeat Hana Granillo and Alexandra Santarelli, 7-5.
In singles player, Deeter cruised to her second straight win at No. 1 singles over Poje in straight sets 6-1, 6-2. Williams and
Kelly Klein (Ross California) also had an easy time in their matches as they each earned straight sets wins to earn the sweep for the Raiders.
