Daugherty Leads Raiders Against Lehigh

Raiders Suffer Fourth One-Point Setback of the Season with 4-3 Loss to Mountain Hawks

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Colgate Men's Tennis was edged by Patriot League rival Lehigh, 4-3, Saturday at the Ulrich Varsity Courts.

The Raiders took a 1-0 lead after claiming two of three doubles matches. Jacob Daugherty and Tom Haile posted a 7-5 victory over Jeremy Kochman and Graham Leman at No. 1 doubles while Bobby Alter and Nick Laub recorded a 6-4 decision against Bryant Born and Ricardo Prince in the No. 2 doubles match.

In singles play, Noah Rosenblat knocked off Born in No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-2, to expanded the Colgate lead to 2-0. Wins by George Cooper at No. 4 singles and Colin Nardella at No. 5 singles tied the match at 2-2 before Jack Peterson recorded a come-from behind victory at No. 2 singles to give the Mountain Hawks a 3-2 lead.

Daugherty brought the Raiders level at 3-3, rallying from a first-set defeat to post a 1-6, 6-4, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles.

The match came down to No. 6 singles, where Ethan Bogard came from behind for a 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 decision and the match.
