Colgate Takes On Sacred Heart in Thriller

Alter and Laub Combine to Win Three Matches, but Raiders Fall to Pioneers, 4-3, on Sunday

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Colgate Men's Tennis suffered its first loss of the season on Sunday, falling to Sacred Heart in a 4-3 thriller at Yale's Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.

Senior Nick Laub and junior Bobby Alter posted a 6-3 victory in the No. 2 doubles match for the Raiders, only to see the Pioneers counter with victories in the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles flight to claim the point and take a 1-0 lead.

Singles play saw Laub and Alter continue their solid play with straight-set victories in the No. 2 and No. 4 singles contests. Rookie Noah Rosenblat also pitched in a straight-sets victory in the No. 3 singles flight to give Colgate a chance to complete the comeback, but Sacred Heart claimed a three-set thriller in No. 1 singles to take the match.
