Duo Named To Patriot League Academic Squad

Seniors Jenna Frost and Rachel Siciliano Added to Their Postseason Awards Haul Wednesday with Selection to the Patriot League All-Academic Team.

HAMILTON - Seniors Jenna Frost and Rachel Siciliano added to their postseason awards haul on Wednesday as both players were named to the Patriot League All-Academic Team.

The senior defenders were two of nine Academic All-League honorees that also earned All-Patriot League status on Monday. Frost was a First-Team All-League selection while Siciliano earned Second-Team All-League distinction.

"We are extremely proud of Jenna and Rachel," said Colgate Head Coach Heather Young. "To be an All-League selection as well as an Academic All-League honoree is quite an achievement. Jenna and Rachel are both the epitome of a dedicated student-athlete and this honor shows their intense work ethic on and off the field."

A native of Swarthmore, Pa., Frost boasts a 3.40 GPA with a dual major in Sociology & Anthropology. A five-time Dean's List and Raider Academic Honor Roll honoree, Frost is also a two-time Patriot League Winter-Spring Academic Honor Roll selection (2013 & 2014).

Siciliano, meanwhile, holds a 3.56 GPA in neuroscience. The Brockport, N.Y., product has made the Raider Academic Honor Roll every semester of her academic career at Colgate. A three-time Patriot League Winter-Spring Academic Honor Roll selection, Siciliano has garnered Dean's List recognition in six of her seven completed semesters at Colgate.

To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.

The Corvias Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year for each individual sport comprises the pool of nominees for the Corvias Patriot League Male and Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards given out over the summer. One male and one female are selected for this honor.
