HAMILTON – The Colgate men's tennis team was in action on Sunday evening at 24th-ranked Cornell and fell, 7-0, to the Big Red.
The Raiders dropped the doubles point as Cornell won all three doubles matches. The top spot was the most competitive match with
Luke Gensburg and
Harry Jewett. The pair took on the Big Red's best doubles pair and fell just short by an 8-7 score.
Alec Goldstein and
Nick Laub lost in the second position by an 8-5 margin and
Mark Pronchick and
Archer McFall fell in the third spot.
Gensburg was in the top spot in singles play, but came up short in his match by a 7-5, 6-2 score. The Big Red ended up sweeping all singles matches in straight sets to earn in the 7-0 win.
The Patriot League season begins this coming weekend with a visit from Lafayette on Saturday, followed by a non-conference match against Siena.
