BETHLEHEM, Pa. (4/9/12) – The Colgate men's tennis team continued Patriot League play on Saturday against Lehigh and the Mountain Hawks defeated the Raiders by a 6-1 score.
Colgate had a tough start to the match as the Raiders dropped the doubles point.
Alec Goldstein and
Parker Lewis played a competitive match at the top spot. The match went to a tie breaker, but Lehigh came out on top with an 8-7 win.
In singles play,
Luke Gensburg was the lone winner after coming back from dropping the first set. He took the second by a 7-5 score and then Lehigh's Mark Goldberg had to retire with Gensburg ahead 4-2 in the final set. All other matches ended in straight sets.
Colgate finished the Patriot League season with a 1-4 record, which puts them fifth in the standings. The Raiders will wrap up the regular season this week with visits from Hamilton College and Binghamton.
