LEWISBURG, Pa. (4/7/12) – The Colgate men's tennis team dropped its third Patriot League match of the season with a 4-3 loss to Bucknell on Friday.
Bucknell was able to get a start on the Raiders by winning the doubles point with victories in the top two spots.
Bobby Berkowitz and
Harry Jewett were the lone doubles team to win for Colgate as they earned an 8-6 win.
The teams then split the singles matches with each team earning three singles wins. All but one match went three sets and that was a win by
Alec Goldstein in the third position.
Luke Gensburg won at the top spot in a tough three-setter. He won the first set at 7-6 and then after dropping a narrow second set at 7-5, he cruised to a 6-0 win in the final set.
Alan Pleat continues to be a consistent player for the Raiders as he won again at the fifth spot. This was probably one of his toughest matches as the first two sets came down to the wire. He won the first set and then lost the second at 7-5. The third set was a nail-biter and he earned the victory with a 6-4 win.
