HAMILTON, N.Y. (4/18/12) – The Colgate men's tennis team concluded its regular season this afternoon at the Abrahamson Memorial Courts with a 7-0 loss to Binghamton.
The Raiders dropped the doubles point with a pair of 8-3 losses in the top two spots in the lineup.
Bobby Berkowitz and
Harry Jewett played the most competitive match of the doubles portion at the third position, but fell just shy of a victory with a 9-8 loss.
In singles, Colgate played tough in a number of sets.
Luke Gensburg lost in straight sets and put up a fight in the second set of his match, but he dropped the set by a 7-5 score.
Alec Goldstein and
Connor Feuille each had long sets to begin their matches at the third and sixth spots, respectively, Unfortunately, they come out on the wrong end of the decision. Goldstein fell, 7-5, and went on to drop the second. Feuille did the same in his match as he fell 6-0 in the second set after coming up short in the first set at 7-6.
Alan Pleat was the lone Raider to push his match to a third set as he took the first with a 6-3 win in the fifth spot. He turned around and dropped the second set by the same score. He then came up short by a 10-5 decision in the tie-breaking set.
Next up for the Raiders is the Patriot League Tournament, which will take place on April 27-29 at the U.S. Naval Academy.
