HAMILTON, N.Y. (3/11/12) – The Colgate women's tennis team had its two-match winning streak come to an end on Friday, March 9, with a 6-1 loss to UConn in Albany.
The Raiders dropped the doubles point by losing at the second and third spots in the lineup.
Alex Petrini and captain
Stephanie Brown won their match at that top spot in a close 9-8 decision.
Kelsey Shea and
Kelsey Wanhainen fell in their match in the second position and
Merideth Rock and teammate
Jackie Finn came up short in the third spot.
Petrini continued her success in the match with a win at the top spot in singles play. She beat her opponent in straight sets with a close 7-6 win in the first set and then a 6-4 victory in the second to win the match. She was the only win for the Raiders as the final five spots in the lineup all lost in straight sets.
Colgate will be on its spring trip this coming week and will take on Marist and Seton Hall in Orlando.
