HAMILTON, N.Y. (10/3/11) - The Colgate field hockey and women's lacrosse programs welcomed back two 2011 Hall of Honor inductees on Saturday for a pregame ceremony to recognized their amazing achievement.
The women's lacrosse team honored Kate Manzella (Mayhook) '00, while field hockey did the same for Katie Russo (Egan) '95.
Manzella was a four-year letterwinner with the Colgate women's lacrosse team and was named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year as a senior after leading the league in scoring with 53 goals and 11 assists. She ranks third all-time at Colgate for goals scored 159 and career points with 231. She also ranked seventh in the nation in points per game as a senior and fourth in goals per game.
Russo lettered four years in field hockey for the Raiders and was named co-captain of the 1994 team. She was also named to the Patriot League All-Decade Team. As a junior and senior she was named to the All-Mideast Regional second team and all-Patriot League first team. She was also named the Patriot League Rookie of the Year in 1991.
Players from the current Raider teams presented the two inductees with a gift following the on-field presentation.
