No. 17 Yale Prevails Past Colgate

Three early Bulldogs’ goals sealed Colgate’s fate in the match.

HAMILTON — Yale, ranked 17th in the country, secured a decisive 7-0 victory over Colgate. Yale struck early with three goals in the first quarter and continued their dominance with three more goals in the fourth quarter, solidifying the win over Colgate.

COACH CORNELL-DEANGELIS' COMMENTS
"Overall, we need a stronger defensive stance from the whole team. Early in the first quarter, we kind of lost track of who our marks were and we could see quick breakdowns. We know Yale was a really fast passing team, and they were able to capitalize on a lot of quick early opportunities against us.

"Really happy to see the adjustments in the second quarter, where we had definitely some great opportunities and momentum, but then we just didn't sustain it through the second half too. We were really emphasizing keeping possession, slowing it down when we needed to, to make sure we had the ball in our hand. I think that's the biggest thing, is Yale beat us to the ball."
