CENTER VALLEY, Pa. (2/4/09) - Senior Martin MacIntyre (Arlington, Va.) of the Colgate men's tennis team earned the Patriot League Men's Tennis Player of the Month award it was announced by the league office on Feb. 4.
MacIntyre went 2-1 in both singles and doubles action for the month of January. In first singles, he defeated Fairfield's Aaron Chan 6-4, 6-1 and Drexel's Joey Koebele 6-2, 3-6, 6-4. MacIntyre, along with partner John Nogueras (Parkland, Fla.), also defeated Drexel's Carlo Pangilinan and Joe Koebele, 8-4 and St. John's Martin Kosut and Stefan Nikolic 8-7 (7-3) in the No. 1 doubles spot.
This marks the third time this year MacIntyre has been named the league's Player of the Month after earning the award in both September and October.
The Raiders, who are 1-2 overall, will be back on the courts Saturday, Feb. 7 when they travel to Boston to take on Boston College at 10 a.m.
