Raiders Fall in Boston, 15-10

McMahon leads Raiders with four points

BOSTON - The Raiders dropped a 15-10 decision to Boston University at Nickerson Field on Wednesday evening.

After a tight first half that saw Colgate trail by one goal at halftime, BU used a 5-1 run in the third quarter to pull away from the Raiders.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Colgate started the game on Wednesday with Maddie Stevens in goal and quickly found itself on the defensive. Despite early pressure from Boston University, including a free position shot hitting the post, Colgate maintained resilience. Chase Dunn equalized with a free position goal at 7:40, following an initial goal from BU's Izabella Amonte.

Colgate pulled ahead with Katie Walsh scoring another free position goal at 5:03. However, the Terriers responded with goals from Tessa Geddes and Amonte, taking a 3-2 lead by the end of the first quarter.

The Raiders began the second quarter with an early goal by Olivia McDonald, assisted by Aubrey McMahon at 14:31, leveling the score. BU responded quickly with two goals, including a free-position goal by Tessa Geddes, to take the lead.

Colgate fought back as Gracie DeSimone capitalized on a free position shot at 5:21, narrowing the gap to one goal. The quarter ended with BU holding a 5-4 lead.

The Terriers took control in the third frame scoring five goals, including a free position goal by Leah Hodgins at 6:52 and another by Kaitlyn Barton at 3:20. The quarter concluded with BU leading 10-6, marking the end of regulation with a final score of 10–6.

In the final quarter, Colgate mounted a determined effort to close the gap. Ella Bishara scored a player-up goal at 10:19, assisted by McMahon, shifting momentum after a yellow card on BU. Walsh followed with another player-up goal from a free position at 9:03, tightening the score. Despite BU responding with multiple goals, Colgate continued to fight back. McMahon capitalized on a free position shot at 3:35, narrowing the deficit. With mere seconds left, McDonald found the net, but it wasn't enough to overcome BU's lead. The game concluded with the Terriers ahead, 15-10.
