Bulger picks up three set singles win

BETHLEHAM, Pa. - The Colgate men's tennis team finished up their fall season at the Patriot League Individual Championships. Each team from the Patriot League sends two singles representatives and one doubles team to compete. The squad's representatives were senior captain Aidan Lee and first-year Witt Bulger for singles, along with juniors Jerome Falcon and Parker McGowan who teamed up for doubles.

The highlight of the weekend came from Bulger, who picked up a 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 win over Lafayette in the Round of 32. Lee fell 6-3, 4-6, 1-6 to Lehigh in the Round of 16, and Bulger lost 1-6, 1-6 in his second match to the No. 1 overall seed from Bucknell. Falcon and McGowan lost their quarterfinals doubles match 4-8 to a Boston University team.

COACH PENNINGTON'S COMMENTS
"Overall, a very productive day with four really high-quality reps. I was very impressed today with our freshman Witt Bulger, as he won a tough first round match in three sets against the very quality Lafayette number one player, and then eventually fell to the defending league champion. Aidan Lee played a great first set but then unfortunately fell as his opponent caught fire. However, he  competed and played very well against the Lehigh number two player. Lastly, Parker and Jerome didn't have their best day but fought hard against a new Boston University team. That concludes our fall season with four high-quality invitationals and plenty of reps. We look forward to resting and recuperating and getting ready for a very action packed spring season with 20 very high-quality dual matches ahead."
