Golf Takes Sixth at Carpetbagger Classic

McCabe's Team-Low 150 Paces Colgate to Top 10 Finish

URBANA, Md. – Dugan McCabe shot a team-low 150 (78-72) over two days to lead Colgate Golf to a seventh-place finish on Sunday at the Carpetbagger Classic.

McCabe opened the tournament with a 6-over 78 on Saturday before carding an even 72 on Sunday for his fourth round of par or better this season. The highlight of the day came on hole No. 14, where McCabe holed out for an eagle. The senior was Colgate's biggest mover on the final day, climbing 21 spots to turn in a 20th-place finish out of 84 golfers this weekend.

Justin Fedele and Kevin Hollomon tied for 24th with 7-over 151 scorecards. Fedele carded a 5-over 77 on Sunday while Hollomon, who paced the Raiders after the opening day, completed his round 8-over to finish 7-over for the tournament.

Michael Hanratty and Jack Maguire tied for 47th and 51st, respectively, while Robbie Herzig turned in Colgate's second-lowest score on Sunday after carding a 2-over 74 to jump 19 spots into a tie for 62nd place.

Colgate fielded two teams as a host institution alongside Binghamton. The Raiders' scoring contingent placed seventh out of 15 teams with a composite score of 34-over 606 (306-300). Rhode Island defended its title, claiming top honors with a 9-over 585 (288-297) two-day total.

Colgate is back in Maryland next weekend for the Battle at Rum Pointe in Ocean City Saturday and Sunday.
