WEST POINT, N.Y. –
Ronav Benak's 1-over 71 landed him in 10th place, helping Colgate to an eighth-place finish as a team Sunday afternoon at the 2026 Patriot League Men's Golf Championship at Army's West Point Golf Course.
Forty-eight golfers across the Patriot League's eight institutions competed in the 6,136-yard par-70 golf course hosted by Army. Navy shot 3-under as a team on Sunday to take home the team title with an 864 (+24) aggregate scorecard. Colgate placed eigthh overall with a 910 (+70) three-day score.
COACH KIRCHER'S COMMENTS
"This was a tough week we didn't see coming. But playing on the nice, historic golf course at West Point taught us to keep going and get better. Our team didn't finish where we wanted, but we are really happy for our first-year player Ronav, who made the top 10. That's a great job and shows he has a bright future with the team. We're proud of how hard everyone fought, and we're using this to get ready even stronger for next time."
HOW IT HAPPENED
Benak saved the best for last, posting three birdies en route to his top round of the tournament. He shot a 1-over 71 to climb into 10th.
Jamison Bryant also secured his best round, shooting a 2-over 72 and improving by six strokes to finish tied for 36th place with a 231 three-day score (+21).
Jayden Freedman led a quartet of Raiders who were separated by six strokes total. Freedman stayed consistent, turning in a 10-over 80 for the second straight day to tie with
Leo Li for 43rd place at 235 (+25). Li matched his Round 1 score of 76 for his best of the weekend.
Brayden Dock carded an 80 to finish with a 238 (+28) in 45th, three strokes ahead of
Alex Hill, who rounded out Colgate's contingent in 46th at 241 (+31).
