Ari Bezanson each scored a goal in Colgate's 2-2 draw against Iona on Sunday at Beyer-Small '76 Field.
Giovino quickly put the Raiders ahead when she scored in the third minute.
Ellie Stokes played in a cross from the left wing that got deflected by Iona's goalkeeper. The ball fell to Giovino's foot who placed it in the back of the net to make it 1-0.
Bezanson scored her first collegiate goal in the 33rd minute. She collected the ball off a throw-in , turned, dribbled, and fired a shot from outside the box that hit the crossbar and fell into the back of the net.
The Gales pulled one back just before halftime. In the 44th minute, Sofia Giamanco played the ball back to Brooke Delsignore who slotted a shot into the goal.
Iona then tied it up with just over six minutes remaining in the game. Kedarjah Righetti collected a through ball on the left wing, dribbled into the box, and placed a shot into the right-side netting.
Colgate had several scoring chances in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Stokes ripped a shot that got saved by the goalkeeper.
The Raiders had a breakaway opportunity in the 70th minute. Giovino and
Cara Schmidlein fired back-to-back shots, but both were denied by the Gaels' keeper.
Colgate also had four corner kicks in the second half for a total of nine in the game. The Raiders led in shots at 14-3 which included a 10-2 advantage in shots on goal.
