WASHINGTON, D.C. - A pair of goals inside the opening 10 minutes of the match lifted the Raiders to a 2-0 win over American at Reeves Field on Saturday. Regan Taylor and Jade Vieira scored their first career goals two minutes apart for Colgate's first Patriot League win of the season.
Coach Hokanson's Comments
"Been a long time coming for this result today. I'm really happy for the group because despite how the last few weeks have gone, they have continued to put their heads down and work. This result today was a product of that, and thanks to a collective commitment to keep going. Happy too for Regan and Jade to get onto the score sheet for the first time in their careers, and nice to get those goals so early in the match to set the tone. We've been on the other side of that so often this year so I was pleased with the intention that we started the game with today. Nice to get another shutout as well, huge testament to the full team effort on the defensive side. Hoping we can build some momentum off of this result as we know what a challenge every single game is in this league. We'll enjoy this one tonight and get ready to for the next one."
