Box Score HAMILTON, N.Y. – Colgate opened the game with five straight goals and went on to defeat Lafayette College 14-7 at Andy Kerr Stadium.
Michael Minicus had a first half hat trick on his way to a career-best five goal afternoon.
Jacob Sposita tallied his first goal of the season 3:26 into the game on a feed from
Nathan Fasanaro.
Michael Minicus scored the Raiders second and third goals off an assist from his brother Brian then an unassisted marker.
Ben Trumble took a pass from Sposita to increase the lead to 4-0, before Colin Rupenstein found the back of the net. A Lafayette goal with 3:17 remaining closed the first period scoring.
Lafayette scored the first two goals of the second period to pull the Leopards to within 5-3.

Brendan Jordan to stop the Lafayette run.
Michael Minicus completed the first half hat trick with an unassisted score with just one second remaining for a 7-3 first half lead for the Raiders.
Colgate showed a relentless attack in the third period opening the session with Jordan's second goal off an assist by
Marshall Terres just 2:6 into the session. Lafayette answered less than two minutes later, but
Jack Turner's first marker of the season put the Raiders in front 9-4. A

Michael Minicus gave the Raiders an 11-4 lead. Lafayette scored a man-up goal with 28 seconds left in the quarter with the scoreboard showing an 11-5 Raider advantage.
Lafayette got the first goal of the fourth period with 6:01 remaining and followed with another at 4:56 to close the gap to 11-7.
Brian Minicus scored a wrap-around goal with 3:32 remaining for his team leading 17
th goal of the season and followed that up with his 18
th just 37 seconds later. Not to be outdone in the sibling rivalry, Michael scored his fifth goal of the game to give the Raiders a 14-7 advantage with 1:25 remaining.
The Raider defense was staunch throughout the afternoon allowing a season low seven goals.
Matt LaCombe stopped 17 Leopard shots in the Colgate net.
Thomas Colucci dominated the face off dot winning 18 of 21 skirmishes and scooping up a dozen ground balls. Colgate was perfect clearing the ball with 20 successful clears in 20 attempts.
