HAMILTON – Former Colgate softball standout
Stephanie Hartquist '12 has been promoted to head coach at Hamilton College after spending the previous two seasons as the program's assistant coach.
Hartquist was a four-year starter at third base for the Maroon and White from 2009-2012. She posted a career .314 batting average and was a four-time All-League selection, including first team honors in 2010 and 2012. Hartquist helped the Raiders compile 98 wins and four consecutive Patriot League Tournament appearances during her time in a Colgate uniform.
In 2010, Hartquist became the first-ever Raider to land First Team Northeast All-Region honors after racking up a .392 batting average with 62 hits in 158 at-bats. She hit safely in 40 of 50 games that season and ranked nationally in total bases, sacrifice flies, and toughest to strike out. She posted a .263 batting average in 2012 with 36 hits, including nine doubles, two triples, and four home runs to earn First Team accolades as a senior.
The Homer, N.Y., native sits in the top 10 of Colgate's all-time record book in at-bats (551), total bases (250), runs (88), hits (174), doubles (33), and RBI (90).
