HAMILTON – The Raiders hosted 14th-ranked Loyola on Senior Day and stayed with the Greyhounds for the first half, but dropped a 10-4 decision on Saturday.

Colgate (4-7, 2-3 PL) got goals from four different players. Monica White and Alison Flood added points on Senior Day with a goal for White with the assist going to Flood. Jenna Frost led the defensive effort with three caused turnovers and three ground balls. Jennie Berglin made five saves in the game with three stops in the first half. She also record four ground balls.

Loyola (9-4, 5-0 PL) stayed undefeated in league play thanks to two goals from Annie and Sydney Thomas and Marlee Paton. Annie Thomas recorded five points as she had three helpers to go with her two goals. Paton added an assist for a total of three points, while Hannah Schmitt had two points on a goal and an assist.

Molly Wolf gave up four goals in the first half on six shots for the Greyhounds, but buckled down and shutdown the Raiders with six stops in the final half to earn her ninth win.

The Raiders got off to a hot start with the first two goals in the opening five minutes. Megan Ark scored her 30th goal of the season with an individual effort to put the Raiders on the board and Lauren Gorajek made it 2-0 Raiders off a nice feed from Kallan Murray.

Annie Thomas stopped the Colgate run with the first of her two in the opening half and then Paton tied it up with an assisted goal with 18:38 left in the first frame.

The teams then traded goals and the Raiders had a 4-3 lead with Taylor Fischer and White scoring. White's goal was on a nice feed from classmate Flood. The lead didn't  hold long as Loyola won the draw and earned a free-position shot and Taryn VanThof tied the game at 4-4. That goal started a run of three-straight to end the first half with the Greyhounds leading 6-4.

The run continued into the second half as Loyola scored all four goals in the final frame to earn the 10-4 win. Both teams went scoreless for 20 minutes as the Greyhounds scored three times in the first 2:45 of the second half, but didn't score again until seven minutes remaining. Colgate was patient on the offensive end and took six shots on goal, but couldn't solve Wolf.

Loyola had a 21-16 shot advantage and both teams collected 17 ground balls. The draw-control game was tied at 8-8 and the Greyhounds forced nine turnovers, while Colgate had seven caused turnovers.

The Raiders close out the home portion of their regular season with a visit by Boston University on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
