Raiders Conclude 2026 Season

Colgate finishes 5-10 overall; 3-6 in Patriot League play

HAMILTON - Colgate concluded the 2026 season with a 21-6 loss to Army at Andy Kerr Stadium on Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After an early turnover by the Black Knights, Olivia McDonald capitalized by gaining possession and initiating a successful clear. Subsequently, Chase Dunn scored for Colgate at 9:30 with an assist from Grace DelNegro, equalizing the score at 1-1.

Despite the effort, the Black Knights regained momentum, with Allison Reilly scoring multiple times, including a free position goal. Colgate's defense, led by Maddie Stevens with crucial saves, faced a challenging onslaught. The period concluded with Army West Point leading 5-1.

Colgate faced a challenging second quarter, highlighted by a strong defensive effort from Stevens, who made multiple saves, including a crucial stop on a shot by Geneva Milch Cesoni. Despite the defensive efforts, the Black Knights capitalized on opportunities, with Brigid Duffy scoring twice in quick succession, contributing to a rapid scoring run for the visitors. Colgate's offense managed to break through late in the quarter when DelNegro scored a player-up goal at 2:23, offering a moment of reprieve. However, Army West Point continued its offensive momentum, ending the quarter with a goal by Brigid Duffy at 19 seconds left. The quarter concluded with Colgate trailing 12-2.

In the third quarter, Colgate found a spark with Ella Bishara scoring twice, including a goal with only 45 seconds remaining. Despite the Black Knights' early momentum with an initial goal by Lily Valentini and a follow-up by Paige Moretti, Colgate's offense managed to capitalize on its opportunities. Olivia Norchi contributed by securing two critical draw controls to maintain possession. The quarter closed with a score of Army West Point 15, Colgate 4.

In the fourth quarter, Colgate's Gracie DeSimone capitalized on a player-up opportunity, scoring with an assist from Bishara at 12:54. Colgate's offense continued to press, with Bishara adding another goal at 3:47. Despite these efforts, the Black Knights maintained control for much of the quarter, with Brigid Duffy contributing multiple goals. Colgate's defense, highlighted by key saves from Stevens, worked diligently against Army West Point's offensive pressure. The game concluded with the Black Knights securing a 21-6 victory.
