Donnally '12 Biking for Lyme Disease Cure

Former Colgate Lacrosse Midfielder Cycling to Raise Awareness for His Illness

Donnally lettered four seasons with the Raiders from 2009-12.
HAMILTON -- Colgate lacrosse alum John Donnally '12 is headlining Bite Back for a Cure, a national campaign by the Tick-Borne Disease Alliance to raise awareness for Lyme and tick-borne diseases. Donnally himself suffers from Lyme Disease.

The Tick-Borne Disease Alliance website posted the first of a two-part Q&A with Donnally in advance of the bike tour.

"This is a wonderful example of our graduates doing great things and trying to work for something bigger than themselves," said Mike Murphy, who was Donnally's coach during his senior Raiders season of 2012. "John Donnally was an unbelievable player and unbelievable in terms of his character, toughness and team-first attitude. He wasn't an All-League guy, though he should have been.

"Peter (Baum) and Ryan (Walsh) may have been the stars, but John was the guts of our 2012 team and we missed him during the 2013 season."
