Pair of Raiders Sign AHL Amateur Tryout Deals

Price, Larkin Have Begun Their Pro Careers in the AHL

With the season coming to end last weekend, the Colgate men's hockey team saw Jeremy Price and Thomas Larkin sign amateur tryout contracts with American Hockey League teams this week.

Price signed earlier in the week with the Chicago Wolves, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks. He paced Colgate defensemen with 14 assists and 20 points in 36 games during the 2012-13 campaign.

The 22-year-old blueliner set career-highs with 21 assists and 23 points in 36 contests with Colgate as a junior in 2011-12. Overall, he amassed 19 goals, 49 helpers, and 68 points in 149 games with Colgate from 2009-13. The Milton, Ontario, native was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks with their fourth selection, 90th overall, in the 2009 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

Larkin joins the Springfield Falcons. He was selected in the fifth round (137th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Blue Jackets, recently completed his four-year career at Colgate. The 22-year-old served was a two-year captain for the Raiders and collected 58 points in 147-career collegiate contests with 15 goals and 43 assists. Larkin was named to the ECAC Third All-Star Team during his junior campaign of 2011-2012.

Larkin will be on the road with the Falcons at the Providence Bruins on Friday before returning to Springfield on Saturday night. Price signed his deal on March 12, but has yet to play for the Wolves, who lost to Grand Rapids last night.
