HAMILTON, N.Y. (4/25/11) – The Colgate women's rowing team had a successful showing at the 2011 Patriot League Championship in Worcester, Mass., finishing third behind champion, Bucknell, and Navy.
The team's third-place finish was its highest since 2007.
The Raiders had two second-place finishes in the Varsity Four and Varsity Eight Races. The Varsity Four completed the race with a time of 7:51.1, just over 11 seconds behind winner, Navy, while the Varsity Eight finished just three seconds after Bucknell with a time of 6:57.2. The Varsity Eight finished above Navy for the first time in program history.
Colgate's Second Varsity Eight finished sixth in its race with a time of 7:35.8.
The team will resume competition next weekend at the ECAC Championships West Windsor, N.J. on Saturday, April 30.
