Men’s Lacrosse Welcomes Binghamton on Tuesday

) – The Colgate men's lacrosse team will continue its two-game homestand when it hosts Binghamton on Tuesday, March 15 at 7 p.m.

Colgate (4-2, 1-0 PL) is coming off a 13-3 win over Holy Cross on Saturday afternoon. The win extends the team's winning streak to four games and gives it an undefeated 2-0 record at home.

Sophomore Peter Baum led the team in scoring with three goals and two assists while senior Ben McCabe had two goals and sophomore Michael Thomas had two goals and one assist. Seniors Rob Bosco, Andrew Mould and Dave Tucciarone, freshmen Brendon McCann and Connor Brown, and sophomore John Donnally all added one goal apiece. Bosco and Donnally also had one assist each.

DEFENDING THE NET
Junior Jared Madison was recently named the Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week for his performance in the team's 13-3 win over Holy Cross on Saturday, during which he made nine saves and allowed only two goals for a .818 save percentage. The New Jersey native has played and started in all six games for the Raiders. He has made a total of 54 saves this season, earning him a .551 save percentage. Madison has faced a total of 98 shots on goal this season and has a 7.51 goals against average.

TEAM STAT LEADERS
Colgate has 15 players with at least one point this season, 12 of which have three or more points. Baum, who has recorded at least one point in all six games this season, leads the team with 22 points from 18 goals and four assists. He is averaging 3.67 points per game, which has him ranked15th in the nation and is fifth in the nation with an average of 3.00 goals per game. Baum is followed by Mould who has nine goals and one assist for ten points and by Bosco who has nine points off four goals and five assists.

SENIORS' CONTRIBUTION
The seniors are already showing their leadership on the field, contributing a significant number of the Raiders' 86 points this season. As a class they collectively have 31 points from 18 of the team's 58 goals and 13 of its 28 assists.

RAIDERS' STATS
The team currently has a total of 58 goals in five games, adding 28 assists for 86 points this season. Colgate has also accumulated a total of 166 groundballs and 34 caused turnovers. Prior to this week the team led the league in penalty-killing percentage (.882) and was second in groundballs per game (29.40). The team is currently ranked third in the nation in man-down defense (.900) and is 15th in scoring defense (7.50).

THE SERIES
The Raiders lead the all-time series with Binghamton, owning a 7-1 record. Since the two teams first met in the 2003 season, Colgate has won every meeting except last season's when it fell to the Bearcats 7-6 on the road. The Raiders has a perfect 4-0 record at home.

SCOUTING BINGHAMTON
The Bearcats (3-3, 0-0 America East) are coming off a 9-5 win over Marist on Saturday. The team, which was picked to finish last in the America East Preseason Poll, also has wins against Canisius and Hobart and has suffered losses to Penn State, Lafayette and Cornell.

Binghamton is led by sophomores Matt Springer and Tyler Perrelle. Springer leads the team with 17 points from a team-best 15 goals and two assists while Perrelle is second with five goals and a team-high eight assists for 13 points.
