HAMILTON, N.Y. (11/5/10) – The men's and women's swimming and diving teams will be back together at Lineberry Natatorium with a visit from Boston College and Boston University over the weekend.

The Raiders face Boston College on Saturday, followed by the Boston University meet at 1 p.m. on Sunday

MEN OPEN PATRIOT LEAGUE SEASON WITH LOSS
The men suffered a 196-94 loss to Lehigh. Colgate won three events, including the 400-yard freestyle relay with the team of senior Tucker Gniewek (Mountain Lakes, N.J), sophomore Dan Sweeney (New Canaan, Conn.), junior Teddy Perley (Harrison, N.Y.) and junior Costas Hadjipateras (New Canaan, Conn.). The group finished with a time of 3:14.71. In individual events, Hadjipateras won the 100-yard butterfly at 53.92, while senior Devon Healy (New Canaan, Conn.) swam to a win in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:13.49, which was 0.22 seconds ahead of Chris Toth of Lehigh.

WOMEN ARE BACK IN THE POOL
The women return to action after taking last weekend off. The Raiders were edged by Buffalo in their first meet of the season. Colgate earned nine event victories by six different athletes, but it wasn't enough as Buffalo spoiled the Raiders opener. Sophomore Lia Kunnapas (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.) won two events with victories in the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke, while classmate Kim Pilka (Great Falls, Va.) swept both diving events. Unfortunately, the meet seemed to come down to the relays and Colgate failed to earn a win in the two events. Buffalo left Hamilton with a 152.5-144.5 victory.

REUNION FOLLOWING MEET
The Colgate men's and women's swimming and diving team will be hosting a reunion for all alumni, friends and families following the Boston College meet on Nov. 6. The event is being put on by Colgate Connect and all who are interested in attending are ask to register by visiting the Colgate Connect web site or by clicking on the reunion button on both swimming and diving web sites.
