SYRACUSE, N.Y. (5/2/09) – Senior attacker
Brandon Corp (Chittenango, N.Y.) recorded four straight points in the second half but it wasn't enough as the 17th-ranked Colgate University men's lacrosse team fell 13-7 to No.1 Syracuse, Saturday afternoon at the Carrier Dome.
With the Raiders trailing 10-3 with 2:30 left in the third quarter Corp went on a surge with three straight assists and a goal to trim the Orange lead to 10-7 with just over 10 minutes remaining in the game.
Corp found fellow classmate
Nick Monastero (Bohemia, N.Y.) at the end of the third quarter for the Raiders fourth goal of the game and then opened the final quarter by assisting junior
Zack Craumer (Greenwich, Conn.) and senior
Kevin Colleluori (Bethpage, N.Y.) to bring Colgate within four 10-6. After assisting three straight goals, Corp took the matter into his own hands scoring his 35th goal of the season unassisted to narrow the gap to 10-7 with 10:02 remaining.
With the momentum finally in their favor the Raiders looked keep pressure on Syracuse, but couldn't as Syracuse senior Jake Moulton scored five seconds later after a clean face-off win to give Syracuse a four goal cushion.
Corp finished with four points to extend his scoring streak to 48-games, while Monastero and Colleluori each posted two.
Syracuse (12-2) recorded the first four goals of the contest to open a 4-0 lead in the first period. The Raiders ended the period with a goal from sophomore

After the Orange scored three straight goals in the third quarter to extend its lead to 9-2 junior
Michael Crown (Winnetka, Ill.) forced a turnover and scored unassisted at 4:49 to help spark the Raiders comeback.
