Men's Lacrosse Travels to Lafayette on Saturday

, N.Y. (4/9/09)—The No. 15-ranked Colgate University men's lacrosse team will put its seven-game winning streak on the line Saturday, April 11, at Lafayette. The game is set for 3 p.m. at Rappolt Field. 

The Raiders and Leopards are facing-off for the 29th time with Colgate leading the series 23-5. The Raiders have won five of the last six meetings, including 15-4, last season.
 
Colgate (8-3, 4-0) enters the weekend tied for first in the Patriot League with Bucknell and is riding a seven-game winning streak after beating non-conference rival Binghamton 11-9 on Tuesday, April 7. The Raiders offense is led by senior attacker Brandon Corp (Chittenango, N.Y.). Corp has a team-high 50 points off 29 goals and a career-high 21 assists, Corp, also leads the nation averaging 4.60 points per game. Classmate Kevin Colleluori (Bethpage, N.Y.) is right behind him with 39 points off 29 goals and 10 assists for 3.77 points per game, seventh in the nation. Senior Nick Monastero (Bohemia, N.Y.) has 25 points followed by junior Ian Murphy (Constantia, N.Y.) with 16.
    
Sophomore face-off specialist Jim Carroll (Nesconset, N.Y.) is 96-of-179 in restarts for a .536 success rate. He also leads the team with 45 groundballs. Between the pipes junior Tim Harrington (Lutherville, Md.) is 8-3 on the season and sports a 9.11 goals against average and .545 save percentage. He is averaging 10.95 saves per game.
 
The Leopards (5-5, 1-2) have won three straight after a 7-4 win over Holy Cross on Saturday, April 4. Tom Perini leads the team with 32 points off 31 goals and an assist, his 31 goals rank third in the nation. Matt Mersky is second on the team with 22 points, 12 goals and 10 assists. Cesar Munoz leads in face-offs with a .617 success rate and 37 groundballs. Jeff Canfield leads between the pipes with a .533 save percentage and a 8.85 goals against average.
