HAMILTON, N.Y. (4/7/09)
– Senior attacker Brandon Corp (Chittenango, N.Y.) scored four goals to lead the 15th-ranked Colgate University men's lacrosse team to 11-9 victory over non-conference rival Binghamton, Tuesday night at Andy Kerr Stadium. The win was the Raiders seventh straight over the Bearcats.

Corp, the nations leading scorer, extended his scoring streak to 44-games with four goals and reached the 50-point mark for the third straight season. Classmate Kevin Colleluori (Bethpage, N.Y.) led the way for Colgate with three goals and two assists for a five-point outing, including the eventual game winning goal, while junior Zack Craumer (Greenwich, Conn.) finished with two-points off a goal and an assist.

With Colgate (8-3, 4-0) trailing 7-6 in the fourth quarter, Corp sparked the Raiders offense with back-to-back goals over a two-minute span to tie the game 8-8. Freshman Chris Zielinski (Lancaster, Pa.), the reigning Patriot League Rookie of the Week, followed Corp, scoring his sixth goal of the season to give Colgate its first lead of the game 9-8, a lead the Raiders would not relinquish for the rest of the game.

Colleluori added two more goals as the Raiders expanded their lead to 11-8, before Binghamton score with 10 seconds remaining to finish the scoring at 11-9.

Binghamton (1-9) jumped out to a 2-0 lead midway through the first quarter off goals from Kevin Joy and Jonny Baron. The Raiders tied the game in the closing minute of the period with goals from Corp and sophomore Ben McCabe (Brunswick, Maine).

The Bearcats grew another two goal lead 4-2 at the 8:12 mark of the second period. Colleluori would trim the lead to one at 4:47, but Binghamton respond a minute later when Chris Mulheron scored to make it 5-3. Junior Ryan McClelland (Brampton, Ont.) scored his first goal of the season with 2:49 remaining to send the Raiders into halftime down 5-4.

Corp tied the game 5-5 early in the third period and the game remained tied for nearly 10 minutes as both goalkeepers made key saves. Baron would give Binghamton the lead 6-5 with his second goal of the contest at 2:32, but Craumer would tie the game 6-6 with seven seconds remaining off a nice pass from Colleluori.

Junior Tim Harrington (Lutherville, Md.) tallied 13 stops in goal for Colgate, including five in the third quarter, while Larry Kline posted 11 saves for the Bearcats.

Colgate travels to Lafayette on Saturday, April 11. The game is slated to begin at 3 p.m. on Rappolt Field.
