HAMILTON, N.Y. (3/27/09)—The No. 17-ranked Colgate University men's lacrosse team is set for Patriot League action, hosting Army on Sunday, March 29. The game is set for 1 p.m. at Andy Kerr Stadium.

The Raiders and Black Knights are facing-off for the 30th time with Army leading the series 25-4. The Black Knights won last season, 13-9, in West Point, N.Y. The Raiders last win against Army came in 2007, 9-7, in Hamilton, N.Y.

 

Colgate (5-3, 2-0) is coming off a fourth quarter rally to beat Ohio State 9-4 on Tuesday, March 24. The Raiders offense is led by senior attacker Brandon Corp (Chittenango, N.Y.). Corp has a team-high 37 points off 22 goals and 15 assists and leads the nation averaging 4.71 points per game. Classmate Kevin Colleluori (Bethpage, N.Y.) is right behind him with 29 points off 22 goals and seven assists for 4.50 points per game, second in the nation. Senior Nick Monastero (Bohemia, N.Y.) has 20 points followed by junior Ian Murphy (Constantia, N.Y.) with 15.

     

Sophomore face-off specialist Jim Carroll (Nesconset, N.Y.) is 76-of-142 in restarts for a .535 success rate. He also leads the team with 36 groundballs. Between the pipes junior Tim Harrington (Lutherville, Md.) is 5-3, 2-0 on the season and sports a 9.43 goals against average and .530 save percentage. He is averaging 10.66 saves per game.

 

The Black Knights enter 5-4, 1-1 after a tough 9-8 double-overtime loss to No. 6 Hofsta on Tuesday, March 24. Jason Peyer leads the team with 32 points off 24 goals and eight assists, while Jeremy Boltus is second with 31 points, 16 goals and 15 assists. Sean Reppard leads in face-offs and groundballs, while Tom Palesky leads the way between the pipes 5-4, 1-1 with a .631 save percentage and a 8.23 goals against average.
