Late Goal Snatches Point for Raiders

Bourne scores first career goal in 90th minute


HAMILTON - Otto Bourne's 90th minute header helped Colgate snatch a point in a 1-1 draw against Lafayette on Saturday at Beyer-Small '76 Field.

MOMENTS OF THE MATCH
  • The Raiders started the game on the front foot with two early shots on target by Malik Samms and Blake Pipkin.
  • Colgate earned a penalty kick in the 37th minute but the shot was saved.
  • Lafayette found the back of the net with three minutes left in the first half.
  • Colgate pushed for an equalizer throughout the second half outshooting the Leopards, 7-1.
  • With less than one minute to go, Samms clipped a cross toward the head of Otto Bourne who ushered the header into the bottom right corner.
  • The match finished 1-1 with both teams earning a point.
NOTES
  • Gavin Vichengrad made four saves in net for Colgate.
  • Bourne scored his first career goal.
  • Colgate extends its unbeaten run against the Leopards to five matches.
  • Samms' assist was the first point of his Colgate career.
