BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – Colgate women's tennis started its 2026 fall campaign by traveling to the Carousel Classic for the second straight year. The invite featured three teams: Binghamton University, University at Buffalo, and the Raiders. The squad also gave back to the community by helping host a youth clinic for local Binghamton elementary students.

"It was a deep field of competition this year in Binghamton and a great event to get our first match reps in. Certainly some areas to polish before our fall invite, but we played free and built our points well. We emphasized making small gains in our execution each day of the tournament, and I really liked the energy we brought into the weekend."

MOMENTS OF THE MATCH

Junior Rebecca Hess led the Raiders in wins on the weekend, recording two singles wins over Binghamton by the scores of 6-4, 6-0 on Saturday and 8-5 on Sunday. Hess and first-year Sophia Kurinets also tallied a doubles win over Buffalo, 6-3, with Kurinets posting her first collegiate victory in the triumph.

In addition to Kurinets, fellow first-year Jolie Mastre also recorded her first collegiate win alongside senior captain Carina Cristobal by teaming up for a victory over Binghamton by the scoreline of 7-5. 

In other singles action, sophomore Anson Silverfield defeated Binghamton 7-6(3), 7-5, and junior Anya Kunar also overcame Binghamton with the score of 7-5, 7-6(5). First-year Mila Montero and Carina Cristobal both battled through matches ending in long third-set tiebreakers.
