Conner Fingar Joins Men’s Lacrosse Staff

Former UAlbany captain joins the Raiders for 2027

HAMILTON – Head coach Matt Karweck adds Conner Fingar as a new assistant coach for the men's lacrosse program ahead of the 2027 season.

Fingar completes the men's lacrosse coaching staff after serving as a volunteer coach at Penn Yan during the 2025–26 season. During his time there, Penn Yan won two Section V championships (2025, 2026) and the New York State championship in 2025.

"I'm extremely excited that Coach Fingar will be joining our program," said Karweck "Conner has a tremendous background in lacrosse with his experiences at Penn Yan and the University of Albany. Also, he was, and still is, an excellent player that can teach the game at a very high level. We pride ourselves on growth here at Colgate, and Conner will be laser-focused on skill development and inspiring our guys to be the best versions of themselves. I'm looking forward to getting him started and caught up on what we are doing so that he can hit the ground running when the guys get back in September."

Fingar, a six-year member of the UAlbany Great Danes men's lacrosse team, served as a two-time captain. During his career, he was a two-time America East champion and earned America East First Team honors in 2024 and 2025.

A native of Penn Yan, Fingar appeared in 69 games. He totaled 25 points on 13 goals and 12 assists. Defensively, he collected 114 ground balls and caused 22 turnovers.

Fingar graduated magna cum laude from the University at Albany in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security, and Cybersecurity, with a concentration in Homeland Security and minors in Sociology and Educational Studies. He also earned a Certificate of Graduate Study in 2025. Additionally, he was a four-time America East Honor Roll selection.
