Sophomore fires final-round 71 to place eighth

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Junior Jayden Freedman fired a final-round even-par 71 to notch a solo eighth-place individual finish, leading Colgate Golf to an eighth-place finish overall at The Goat, hosted by Navy at the United States Naval Academy Golf Club (Par 71, 6,965 yards).

Colgate recorded a three-round team score of 883 (+31) following rounds of 288, 297, and 298 across the two-day tournament. The Raiders bested seven teams in the 15-team field, including Patriot League opponents Lafayette (11th, 889) and Bucknell (15th, 921). George Washington claimed the team title with a total score of 856 (+4).

Coach Kircher's Take

"This was a good first event on the road for us. We got to have some young guys get reps, and had really good stretches of golf. Jayden had another strong finish to start the year. His 68 first round at Navy's course was great. He was right in the mix all weekend and handled himself well. I'm excited to see what he can keep doing."
