Junior placed eighth over the weekend in Annapolis

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Colgate Golf junior Jayden Freedman has been named the Patriot League Golfer of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday.

Freedman earns the weekly accolade following his performance at The Goat, hosted by Navy at the United States Naval Academy Golf Club in Annapolis, Md. (Par 71, 6,965 yards).
Competing in an 84-player field, Freedman secured sole possession of eighth place with a 54-hole tournament total of 1-over-par 214.

The Boca Raton, Fla., native set the pace for the Raiders right from the opening tee box on Saturday, firing a 3-under-par 68 in the first round. His opening-round 68 tied for the second-lowest single-round score recorded by any player in the field across the three-round event.

After posting a 75 (+4) in the second round, Freedman bounced back in Sunday's final round, carding an even-par 71 to solidify his top-10 individual finish.

Freedman's play anchored Colgate to an eighth-place finish in the 15-team tournament with a team total of 883 (+31), besting conference opponents Lafayette (11th, 889) and Bucknell (15th, 921).
